Program

  • Day 1 – From Ströden, ascent towards Rostocker Eck (2,749 m), the first real entry into the glacial environment of the Hohe Tauern. This acclimatisation route allows you to get used to the terrain, rhythm and typical conditions of the tour. Indicative elevation gain/loss: +1,300 m / -500 m.
  • Day 2 – Ascent to Simonyspitze (3,481 m), a more technical itinerary immersed in an increasingly serious high-altitude environment. The ascent develops across glacier terrain and progressively more exposed slopes, with wide views over the surrounding peaks. Indicative elevation gain/loss: +1,200 m / -1,200 m.
  • Day 3 – Ascent to Großer Geiger (3,360 m), one of the most representative summits in the region. A complete and rewarding itinerary, alternating glacier travel with more sustained sections near the summit. Indicative elevation gain/loss: +1,500 m / -1,200 m.
  • Day 4 – Major traverse towards Großvenediger (3,657 m), one of the symbolic mountains of the Hohe Tauern. After the ascent, a long descent and return towards Ströden, followed by a transfer to the Karls area for the next stage. Indicative elevation gain/loss: +1,300 m / -2,200 m.
  • Day 5 – Final day with the ascent of the majestic Großglockner (3,798 m), the highest summit in Austria. A grand and serious environment to end the tour with a climb of strong mountaineering character and a long final descent in a spectacular setting. Indicative elevation gain/loss: +1,880 m / -1,880 m.
