Cresta de l’Om in Val Nambrone – Alpine Traverse in the Presanella Group

Difficulty:

Cresta de l’Om is one of the most elegant and complete lines in Val Nambrone, in the heart of the Adamello-Presanella group. It is a long, continuous and highly aesthetic rocky ridge, alternating sections of climbing on excellent granite with more exposed and dynamic passages, where moving together alternates with short abseil descents.

The itinerary develops in a surprisingly wild high-mountain environment, despite its relatively easy access from the valley. The line follows the natural profile of the ridge, crossing pinnacles and gendarmes that make the progression varied and never monotonous, with constant but never excessive exposure for those familiar with this type of terrain.

From a scenic point of view, the experience is outstanding: throughout the traverse, the view opens onto the Cornisello Lakes, the imposing east face of Cima Presanella and a continuous panorama stretching across much of the Brenta Group. It is one of those ascents where the aesthetic and mountaineering dimensions blend naturally, making every passage part of a wider and more immersive experience.
