Acque Pendenti Alpine Route in Val Genova – Alpine Hike at the Foot of the Adamello Glacier

Difficulty:

The Acque Pendenti Alpine Route in Val Genova, in the heart of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park and the Piana di Bedole, is one of the most scenic outdoor experiences in Trentino, at the foot of the Adamello peaks and glacier.

It is an easy, panoramic alpine route that climbs a rocky spur in an environment dominated by the constant presence of meltwater flowing down from the permanent snowfields above. The itinerary combines alpine hiking with simple plaisir-style progression on rock.

The name Acque Pendenti comes from the waterfalls and countless streams that accompany much of the route. In several sections, the feeling is that of moving inside the flow of water itself, with the path seeming to run through the waterfall, offering a rare and deeply immersive alpine experience.

The itinerary follows ancient passages once used by mountaineers and guides heading towards the Mandrone Glacier, and still preserves traces of the White War on Adamello (1915–1918). Today, the route is valued as an accessible alpine itinerary, while keeping intact the authentic and wild character of the high mountains.

  • High-mountain landscapes and unique views over Val Genova.

Program

  • Meet the guide in Pinzolo and transfer by car along the beautiful Val Genova to the Piana di Bedole (1,680 m), immediately immersed in one of the most spectacular environments of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. From here, the approach begins on foot along a beautiful alpine trail that gradually leads to the start of the alpine route, where the line of ascent takes shape between rock and high-altitude scenery.
  • You then climb the aesthetic ridge of the route, always accompanied by the sight and sound of glacier meltwater rushing down towards the valley, creating a constant background of noise and movement throughout the progression. The route leads to Lago Nuovo (2,200 m), in an increasingly open and luminous environment. From here, continue along an easy trail to Rifugio Mandron Città di Trento (2,450 m), the ideal place for a well-earned lunch break in the heart of Adamello.
