Mankealpi comes from the union of three elements that express its identity and vision:
- MAN, human being.
- KE, kinetic energy: energy in motion.
- ALPI, the universal expression of the mountains.
Three dimensions that tell the story of my philosophy: relationship, movement and mountains.
I believe human beings are born to move, explore and create authentic connections with themselves, with others and with the environment around them. It is through movement that we discover who we are and bring our potential to light.
The mountains are the place that, more than any other, embodies this search. An essential and powerful environment, able to teach, challenge and restore perspective. In this sense, the Alps are much more than a mountain range: they are a symbol. They represent an invitation to look beyond what we know, to explore new horizons and to go beyond the boundaries that often exist only in our minds.
The letter M also stands for Monti and Montagne: hills and mountains. In its rotated position, it traces a precise geographical area at the centre of two linear axes of great importance for hikers: a unique outdoor world shaped by three very different environments that exist in close contact with one another: the Brenta Dolomites, Adamello-Presanella and Lake Garda.
The first line connects Adamello and Presanella to the north-west, an area defined by glaciers, deep green landscapes and imposing peaks. The second, to the south-east, links the Brenta Dolomites and Lake Garda, with extraordinary rock, irregular lines and shapes, and two completely different climates: one alpine and one Mediterranean. Between the two lies the Sarca River, fed both by glacial meltwater and by water flowing from the deep karst cavities of the Dolomites.
The M of Mankealpi is also Man, or Mannaz, one of the final runes, ᛗ, of the runic alphabet. The Rhaetian civilisation had its centre in what is now Trentino, or more broadly the whole Tyrol area. This symbol underlines how important it is for the seeker, having reached the end of their journey through the world of runes, to have created bonds of intimacy and trust with the other human beings who share the path.
A fundamental step towards the healthy development of consciousness, reason and awareness.
