Jurassic Canyon is the full version of Rio Nero and one of the most spectacular canyoning experiences in Trentino, in the heart of Val di Ledro. The route develops between Lake Ledro and Lake Garda, also close to Lake Idro, in a wild, remote and unspoilt natural setting.
A long and immersive canyon offering a unique, almost prehistoric environment, where rock, water and vegetation create a landscape reminiscent of Jurassic scenery.
Access to the canyon is at Ponte dei Ri, along the road from Passo d’Ampola towards Tremalzo, in an isolated mountain setting that immediately introduces the intense atmosphere of the experience.

Program
- Meet the guide at Passo Ampola, in Val di Ledro, and transfer towards Tremalzo. After receiving the technical equipment and changing into wetsuit, helmet and harness, a short walk leads to the entrance of the canyon.
- Before setting off, there will be an introductory technical briefing to learn the basics of progression and the safety rules.
- Descend through the wild Rio Nero gorge, between water sections and technical passages. At the end of the activity, return to the starting point and conclusion of the experience.
Pricing & Logistics
- The cost of the excursion varies depending on the number of participants and the chosen program.
- The price includes: Mountain Guide service, technical equipment including wetsuit, neoprene socks, helmet and harness, itinerary planning and logistical organisation.
- The price does not include: transfers and extra expenses.
- At the time of booking, each participant’s height and weight will be requested to ensure the correct allocation and management of technical equipment.
- What to bring: swimsuit, towel, a pair of shoes to use in the water, such as light hiking boots or trainers, snacks and a drink.
- Times: 9:00 AM–3:30 PM.
- The experience can be combined with other outdoor activities over several days, for a complete adventure and nature holiday in Trentino, such as via ferratas, climbing, trekking or personalised experiences, always accompanied by mountain professionals.
