Ice climbing on Monte Nero di Presanella is one of the most fascinating experiences in the Eastern Alps. Located at 3,344 metres in the Adamello-Presanella group, Monte Nero rises above upper Val Nambrone, just beyond Rifugio Segantini, in one of the most evocative environments of western Trentino.<\/p>\n
Often considered the sentinel summit of Presanella, the highest mountain in Trentino, Monte Nero holds an extraordinary north face standing opposite the Vedretta d\u2019Amola glacier. In terms of size, shape and quality of its lines, it is often compared to a smaller version of the great faces of the Mont Blanc massif.<\/p>\n
